Lucy Liu is an American director, actress, and a singer. An attractive and intelligent actress she serves as an inspiration for numerous Asian actors who want to make it big in Hollywood. After appearing in a number of episodes in popular TV shows and movies, she gained fame when she was a part of her role in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. The fame she gained from the show was translated into movies like Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. The actress then gave an amazing performance as Japanese criminal O'Ren ishii, in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. She also played leading roles in box-office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she began to play characters that were prominent in animated films like Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's part as a character in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen production, didn't produce positive results. Southland's critically-acclaimed police drama, Southland and a recurring performance helped Liu revive her career acting career. Liu is careful when choosing roles in order to avoid being disregarded in the field that is competitive. While she's proud of her roots, she does not let it limit her creativity.
